The East Granby LIONS Club was chartered April 28, 1960 and has served the community of East Granby, Hartford County, CT and the world community for over 49-years. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2010.

Officially, legally, we are incorporated within the State of Connecticut, and federally recognized as, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization known as The East Granby LIONS Charities, Inc. (which means that any direct donation is tax deductible if you itemize your return), but we generally go by East Granby LIONS Club. If you care to make a tax-deductible donation to a worthy cause, knowing that one hundred percent (100%) goes to charitable purposes, you may make checks payable to East Granby LIONS Charities, Inc. and mail to our post office box (288) address. If you want a donation to go toward a specific purpose (such as Scouts or Scholarships) listed in this page, please so note on the memo line of your check.

LIONS Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) have initiated a long term fund drive to help stamp out preventable blindness world-wide. Local LIONS Clubs around the world will be sponsoring directed fund raising projects, asking individual members to make donations, and asking the members of the community to make donations for this ambitious project. The East Granby LIONS Charities, Inc. has dedicated the sum of $5,000.00 to this worthy cause over a 5 year period.  If you wish to help support this important humanitarian cause, checks should be made payable to LCIF - CSFII (the amounts are deductible on your tax returns if you itemize) and mailed to East Granby LIONS Charities, Inc. at P.O. Box 288 in East Granby, or turned over to any member of East Granby LIONS at any time within the next two years.

Your continued support of our functions allows us to continue to give scholarship grants to graduating high school seniors, as well as support the drug free graduation program, boy and girl scouting, little league and other youth activities within East Granby, and also, worthy charities within Connecticut, and worldwide.

Continuing, a very great THANK YOU to all who have faithfully supported our works and who have made our fund raising events successful over the past years. If you'd like to join with us, contact Membership Chairman Charlie Hunderlach (658-7571) for more information or contact any LIONS Member for an application form.

Remember that supporting our fund raising functions is supporting all of the East Granby and other charitable organizations that we sponsor or support (listed elsewhere on this page). We thank everyone for their continued interest and support.

Remember that all LIONS Clubs accept used or outdated prescription eyeglasses (and also hearing aids) for recycling.  This includes non-perscription glasses and sunglasses because dark glasses are needed after certain eye-surgeries.  Collection points are EG Town Hall, Granby Pharmacy, Suffield Bank in East Granby and Hair It Is Salon, but any LIONS member will accept donations for this purpose.

NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME
